Melanie Vinueza

Melanie Vinueza, MHC-LP received her undergraduate degree in criminal justice and law from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and her master’s degree in mental health counseling from Manhattan College. Melanie believes that the foundation of therapeutic work is a caring, supportive and hope instilling relationship that allows clients to engage in self-discovery and fully explore their potential. She aims to help clients live more consciously with more control, more clarity, and a better understanding and acceptance of self. She makes an effort to meet each client where they are, and works to tailor treatment towards their individual needs.

Melanie is fluent in English and Spanish and has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She utilizes a holistic approach to assess the ways in which your position as a member of a family, community and society impact your lived experiences. Elements of client-centered, existential, cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic modalities are utilized to address self-esteem, existential and interpersonal issues, depression and more.
