The Caregiver Connection: You are Not Alone

Full time caring for a loved one can be one of the most stressful situations you will encounter in your life. Whether it’s day to day caretaking for an aging parent, a loved one with a disability or someone dear to you with a chronic illness, it can take a hidden toll on you. Many caretakers fail to keep in mind that not only are they dealing with their own life, but how easy it is to get swept up in the needs of someone else.

For some, these tasks can be overwhelming and in turn leave a caregiver feeling out of control or experience degrees of burnout at different times. Often it helps you to realize that you are not alone, even if it feels that way. At Suffolk Counseling Services, we know that sometimes it’s helpful to just have someone listen, help you to gain a better understanding of the situation you are in and skills to help you better cope with your stress.

Caregivers Connection Group

Sometimes just hearing from someone else in your situation can help to ease your stress. That’s why we now offer Caregivers Connection, a virtual conversation that takes place each week on Thursday evenings. It’s a compassionate space where no one is judged, but rather offers a place for community and connection.
