Catherine McHeffey

Catherine McHeffey is a Licensed Master Social Worker who is passionate about working with individuals as they take the step to better themselves toward a more fulfilling life.

As a professional social worker, Catherine is able to build rapport based on empathy, warmth, and genuine respect. Catherine believes that a positive support system increases an individual’s ability to meet their specific goals. She aims to empower clients to reach their full potential by focusing on empowerment and self-esteem.

 

Catherine believes in a strengths-based approach. When working with clients she utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy, as well as using a trauma-informed approach.

After receiving her undergraduate degree in Psychology at St. Joseph’s College, Catherine went on to pursue her Master of Social Work at Adelphi University. She is passionate about working with children and adults who find themselves feeling overly worried or anxious. Catherine offers an empathetic, non-judgmental, and warm environment, enabling a safe space for clients to discuss their emotions and feelings.
